New Chapter Member

We welcome new member Matt Cohen to our Chapter.

Matt's Patriot ancestor is his 8th great-grandfather through his mother, Anne Pirkle Cohen, whom he lost in 2013. Anne was a member of the DAR. The Pirkle line dates back to the early years of Georgia in Hall and Walton counties. Matt's mother was from Monroe GA where the family lived for several generations.

Matt is a descendant of John Jacob Pirkle who served under Captain Abraham Phillips in the North Carolina militia. That unit served with distinction in five skirmishes with the Torries while assisting in the evacuation of Wilmington (NC) in 1791.

The Atlanta Vietnam Veteran’s Business Association produced a video entitled "Truths and Myths about the Vietnam War" . President Galt urges you to view this video and share it with your family & friends. It reveals many truths about the Vietnam experience from the perspective of those who served, as opposed to those who teach what they want about the war from a desktop with a tinted crystal ball.
