Mount Vernon Chapter Meeting March 24th, 2024 Refresh Page Meeting to Order  President Galt -- Meeting to Order  Marlene thanked everyone for the calls, cards and for those who attended the funeral for Don Hart. New Member: Matthew Cohen  Matt's Patriot ancestor is his 8th great-grandfather through his mother, Anne Pirkle Cohen.
Matt is a descendant of John Jacob Pirkle who served under Captain Abraham Phillips in the North Carolina militia. That unit served with
distinction in five skirmishes with the Torries while assisting in the evacuation of Wilmington (NC) in 1791.    Color Guard Honor  Color Guard Commander Shep Hammack presents Tom Hewett with the GASSAR "cockade" for his uniform. Tom has been in GASSAR and NSSAR events and is honored for his participation.
