Our group for the night was dressed in Tuxedos, Business Suits, or in Kilts.

Presidents Annual Report
Chapter President Wellons opened his remarks with the contributions to the Chapter by past Presidents.
He followed with the accomplishments during 2023.
- Flag Certificates: 1) Sunny Side Beach & Tennis Resort 2) Semper Fi Grill (Now Rally Point Grill) 3) City of Sandy Springs (at City Hall) 4) City of Sandy Springs (at Veterans Park) 5) Sandy Spring Fire Sta.on #2
- The Liberty Tree at Veterans Park. Mount Vernon co-sponsored a tree donation with the Sandy Springs DAR to the city of Sandy Springs.
- The Traveling Trunk. Shep Hammack, Bill Floyd and Bob Sapp all conducted at least one Traveling Trunk at a grade school this past year. (Macedonia Elementary School + )
- Speakers Bureau. Mount Vernon Chapter has registered 6 speakers with the State Societies Speaker's Bureau page.
- C.A.R Liaison Kevin Baker: Helping recruit dual youth memberships (C.A.R. & SAR) and coordinated parent/grandparent memberships into the SAR.

President to President
2024 Chapter President John Galt was given the Chapter Gavel by GP Larry Guzy. He was also given the Presidents ribbon to wear for the next year.
2023 Chapter President David Wellons was given his own Presidents ribbon, which was placed by Jane Wellons around David's neck. Huzzah David!
Remarks by Incoming President John S. Galt
John thanked everyone for their attendance and support during his term as VP, and looked forward to his new role.
He briefly outlined his priorities and goals of the 2024 year, which includes an emphasis on each members Patriot Ancestor and our Revolutionary War History.
